I have totally abandoned my BLOG ;-/ Sorry readers! Good news…
Is your promise right around the corner and for whatever reason it’s taking forever to come to pass??? Are you starting to question if the promise is for you because of its delay??? Consider this…
I’m sure God would love to hand over our promises on a platter w/ a silver spoon. After all as children/ joint heirs of Christ we are a royal priesthood! It only sounds right to have what we want when we want the way we want it. Maybe I’m the only one we tried to reason w/ God in this manner. I’m sure you have no problem w/ waiting for your promises! If you don’t, praise God for you! As for me, I get a little antsy when things take longer than I expect! I know… I’m suppose to quote Isaiah 40:31,” but those who wait in the LORD will renew their strength." True enough quoting that scripture gets me through but there are times when I have to go in my prayer closet and ask, "God what is really going on?" I’ve been waiting way too looong for my promise! Well today, God gave me a revelation that i would like to share w/ you all. He took me to this scripture:
2 Peter 3:9
“9 The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
I looked up the word repentance; root word repent.
Definition for repent: 1. to turn from sin 2.to change one’s mind
God clearly said to me ,” daughter, while you are worried about the earthly promises…I’m more concerned about the eternal promises; healing your heart, making you complete, and transforming your mind. So, with or without the material promises you will be better, stronger, wiser, and more like Christ. Nicole, I’m waiting on you to stop trying to handle YOU and your ISSUES on your own. Its time YOU come to me, believe me, and allow me to work on you… little by little.”
God is patient w/ us. He will hold on to our earthly promise, set it aside, and He will take the time needed to help us deal w/ our stubbornness, pride, arrogance, anger, fears, unbelief, and whatever else that may be keeping us from maturing in Christ.
God is not in the business of satisfying your flesh w/ the things of this world. He is after your heart and changing your character to be more like Him!
Understand the process, be willing to learn, obey God, and persevere.
“Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (James 1:4)
Blessings,
Nicole
